There is simply no time for the Queen of Christmas.
While you accept Board Chart Achievement Award for her long-running hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You” at the 2023 awards. Board At the music awards – presented by her 12-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe – Mariah Carey once again joked that she “doesn’t recognize time”.
“Board it has been an integral part of my life for a very long time. Although I do not acknowledge the time, I somehow have to admit that some of my most memorable moments in my career are connected with Board and the BBMAs,” Carey, 54, teased during her acceptance speech.
She continued: “One thing I really have to say and I’m really grateful for is the fact that my fans have been here with me through the hits, through the misses, through the #1s and through the Bubbling Unders.”

The “We Belong Together” singer then explained how much her holiday classic has changed her life since its 1994 release.
“This award is particularly special to me because the song itself changed my entire life. When I first sat down to write ‘All I Want Christmas Is You’, I never imagined that I would be standing here three months later receiving a special award for it , OK?” she joked, referencing her earlier comment about the weather.
Carey then thanked her fans who “allow this song to be part of their holiday music every year.”
“It’s a great honor to receive this award for the success of this little song on the charts, but the biggest achievement for me is being here with all of you and feeling the love that only music can create. Thank you so much!” she told the crowd.
Before accepting her award, the pop icon performed her holiday anthem for the crowd, bringing a bit of winter glamor with her.
Dressed as a snow princess, Carey’s all-white ensemble featured a plunging minidress with a front zipper with cozy cuffs and silver trim along the hem.
She also wore sheer leggings, knee-high boots and cat-like sunglasses.
For her performance, Carey arrived on stage in a ski lift chair. She sang “All I Want for Christmas Is You” in front of a retro ski lodge backdrop.

Earlier this week, Carey said Access that her twins will participate in the performance.
“I love it. I love seeing them step into this performance space, this music space, and the fact that they’re eager to do that, that’s on them,” she said.
The “Heartbreaker” artist holds the record for the most weeks at number one Billboard’s Hot 100 — thanks in part to the holiday hit that topped the chart for 12 weeks.
