Mark Wahlberg Shares Hilarious Head Shave Flashback Video: 'No Cap'

On Thursday, January 2, the 53-year-old actor ushered in the new year by sharing a behind-the-scenes look at what it took for him to get into character for his latest film Flight risk.

“Watch @flightriskmovie 🥸🔥🎥🎬 keep it real🥸 no bald cap🥸🥸 NO CAP🔥,” he wrote on Instagram Reels of his stylist shaving his head.

“Y— are you watching?” he teased in the clip while sitting in a lounge chair. Elsewhere in the video, he added: “He’ll be back.”

Fans in his comments section appreciated the look, adding their own jokes.

“More like Mark Baldberg,” one person wrote. Another added: “Should be your new profile pic😂.”

Wahlberg first shared a shot of his bald look in an Instagram post on July 3, 2024.

“No bald caps for me😎😂, let’s go all out,” he wrote in the caption, which showed him posing next to the stylist who made his look possible.

As she smiled and pointed at him, he put one arm around her and looked madly at the camera, only missing the middle part of his hair – the sides were still intact, though what was left was quite disheveled.

Wahlberg stars in the Mel Gibson-directed action thriller as a pilot who transports a US Marshal (Michelle Dockery) and a prisoner (Topher Grace) on a small plane across Alaska en route to New York City for the prisoner to testify in an upcoming trial against an organized crime group.

Speaking to PEOPLE in June about the film ahead of its release, the Ted star shared what his wife Rhea Durham thinks about the dramatic change for the film.

“There was no bald cap. I shaved the middle and left the horseshoe on the side. We just shaved it off,” he said at the time. “Every day they would shave the top as close to the crown as possible, obviously, because we didn’t have any hair or anything. So I just hid it with a hat.”

“But the most priceless thing was seeing my wife’s face when I took my hat off after getting my hair cut for work that day,” Wahlberg told PEOPLE.

He added that Durham, 46, wouldn’t be the only one who found his shaved head amusing.

“Oh, they’ll love it. My kids—especially my boys—loved the haircut,” Family plan the actor continued.

Wahlberg and the model — who made headlines French Vogue, Marie ClaireBritish and American ELLE — have been married since 2009. The couple share four children: Ella, 21, Michael, 18, Brendan, 16, and Grace, 14.
