Mel B cheekily responded to a question about how she feels about her 24-year-old daughter Phoenix Brown, channeling her look from the past.
In December 2022, Phoenix (who Mel B, 48, shares with her ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar) took the Internet by storm with a Scary Spice shot — and yes, it included a few of her mom’s Spice Girls past looks that every ’90s babe from dreams.
But in a recent interview on The The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy FallonMel B joked that she was “so mad” and “annoyed” that her daughter was borrowing her clothes.
“So I’m looking on Instagram and she’s sending me this bunch of pictures,” she explained, adding that when she saw the photos, she thought, “That looks a little bit like me.”

Then she realized what her child was carrying. “He’s got all my bloody clothes on! Bitch stole my look and walked into my closet and I said, you better put all that stuff back now because they are my clothes”, the American talent said the judge.

Mel B, who said seeing her daughter in Spice Girls costumes was a “trip”, went on to explain the story behind the piece.
“Spice Girls, we are mostly a local band. So we styled ourselves, we made our own music, we begged producers and co-writers to work with us on the promise that we’d pay you back when we were rich and famous (we never were).”

The quintet – which also included Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Melanie C and Emma Bunton – were “absolutely penniless” and ended up styling and making their own clothes on a shoestring budget. “It was 50 cents for that top, I probably made the skirt myself, they were called shorts,” Mel B recalled.
Phoenix, however, thinks her mother’s fashion was – and still is – the coolest in the game.
Mel B said: “My 24-year-old walked over and said to me, “Yeah mum, you’re cool, but you’re really cool now because everything you wore in the 90s has come ‘back in’.
