Neeru Bajwa was born as “Ashveer Kaur Bajwa” (43 years old; as of 2023) on Tuesday, August 26, 1980, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Her star sign is Virgo.
She had no interest in studying since she was a child. In the documentary “Bollywood Journey” (2003), she confessed that she dropped out of school to pursue a career in acting.

She went on to act in several Bollywood films such as Prince (2010), Windy 2 (2010), Milena Mile Hum (2011) and Special Chabis (2013). In 2004, she made her Punjabi film debut as “Neeru” in the film Asa Nu Maan Watna Da.
Her first film as a leading lady in a Punjabi film was Dil Apna Punjabi (2006). - Since childhood, Niru dreamed of becoming an actress. She grew up watching Bollywood movies and decided to become an actress.
- Before coming to India, she entered an Indo-Canadian beauty pageant because she heard that the winner would get a chance to go to Mumbai. She came second in the contest, but by then, her father had already agreed to send her to Mumbai.
- Initially, her parents were against Neeru’s desire to become an actor; they wanted her to become a doctor.
- Her father respected her decision and supported her fully. At the age of 19, she came to Mumbai for auditions. Since then, she has been working in the industry.
- Neeru Bajwa’s last Bollywood film was Special Chabbis (2013). Talking about her reasons for leaving Bollywood, Neeru said:
I am not saying that is how the industry works. I am saying that I was one of those actresses who had the misfortune of having a horrible experience. Since then, I have not tried my luck in Bollywood and never will. I am very comfortable in Punjabi films.”
