Nigel Farage reveals furious bust-ups with ITV over stripping, smoking and shock edits of I’m A Celeb clashes

NIGEL Farage has told ITV bosses to “go to hell” in a furious row over his I’m A Celebrity nude shower.

The politician said he broke the series’ strict nudity ban to protect himself from leeches and disease.

Third-placed Nigel said: “To be told to get checked and to be told you have to be clean – and to be told you can’t take your pants off in the shower seemed contradictory to me.

“I had a big fight. I was told in the interest of taste and respect for cameramen and videographers that I shouldn’t do this.

“I said, ‘Go to hell!’

Nigel – who also said his bosses banned him from smoking two cigarettes in a row because it took too much time – added: “The day I did it, it was raining.

“The leeches will crawl up your leg and burrow into the warmest part of your body.

“Sam did not shower naked and Sam did not examine himself. Sam woke up one morning screaming – the leech was huge. It was on his leg and the sleeping bag looked like a murder scene.

“So there were very good reasons [to be naked].

“Then my other campers did the same, four more stripped naked.”

Nigel, 59, came third, behind boxer Tony and Jungle King Sam, on Sunday night.

Although Nigel said his experience at the camp was so good that he would be willing to do the show again, he accused ITV of pushing the stars too hard.

In his first drinking experiment, Nigel and Tony Bellew, 41, faced off and had to drink 12 pints of the heavy liquid – including a mixture of cow anus and a mixture of bull’s penis.

Nigel stated: “The drinking challenge was a nightmare that will never happen again. They know they got it wrong. They made us seriously ill.”

Nigel also struggled with the bad weather, adding: “Wet socks were my biggest problem.

“I had blisters from wet socks. It was quite depressing on those rainy days.

“The end of my bed was literally wet night after night.”

Nigel is this year’s most divisive addition, but he has become extremely popular with his camp mates.

He formed close friendships with Danielle Harold, Marvin Humes and Sam – who spent hours talking to Nigel about ancient Greece.

Brexit campaigner Nigel clashed with First Dates star Fred Sirieix but said their arguments never fell into line.

He said: “The biggest risk of signing this deal was editing. Fred and I had three big debates about Russia, where he kept talking. ‘You are financed by the Russians’.

“I was quite angry and judgmental in my response.”

Nigel added: “People were very wary of me.” You had people like Fred and then people like Nella who believes everything she reads on the internet.

“There were such people who longed to poke me with a stick and I was aware of that. I was waiting for my time, I knew it was a marathon, not a sprint.”
