She holds a Masters in Development Studies from the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex, UK. Priya also holds a Masters in Public Administration from the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK.

Priya Choudhary became active in politics on March 8, 2020, when she took out a full-page advertisement in various Hindi and English newspapers in Bihar, announcing her candidacy for the post of Chief Minister of Bihar. The advertisement stated that she was the president of Plurals, a political party that Priya herself had started. In the advertisement, Choudhary promised to bring development to Bihar and called on people to vote against the establishment. With the slogan “Plurals has arrived”, Priya called on the people of Bihar to join her party if they love their state and hate traditional politics.

On a Twitter account purportedly belonging to Ms Choudhary, she wrote:

Bihar needs pace, Bihar needs wings, Bihar needs change. Because Bihar deserves better, and better is possible. Say no to bullshit politics, join the pluralist party, and let Bihar run and fly in 2020. ”

She also wrote on Twitter:

Love Bihar, hate politics? Join the most progressive party. ”

Priya has written an open letter to the people of Bihar on her website. Here is part of the letter:

The world is developing at a rapid pace, but Bihar remains the least developed state in the world. We are at the bottom of the list in the country as well. Moreover, the problem is not our ranking but what it represents. Poverty, malnutrition, illiteracy, unemployment and all other development indices require urgent policy action. These parameters are killing people in Bihar every day.”
