Dmitry Medvedev – a close Putin ally who served as president from 2008 to 2012 – said Moscow was ready to unleash Armageddon on its enemies if they were defeated in a bloody war.

Medvedev feared that if Putin was forced to give up the parts of Ukraine he had invaded, the West would only weaken Russia and return it to its 1991 borders.

A friend of Putin said: “Attempts to return Russia to the borders of 1991 will only lead to one thing.

“To meet the global war with Western countries using the entire strategic arsenal of our country.

“In Kiev, Berlin, London, Washington.”

Medvedev continued his chilling threat: “Will we have the courage to do this if the thousand-year-old country, our great homeland, is about to disappear, and the sacrifices made by the people of Russia over the centuries will be in vain?

“The answer is obvious.”

Medvedev said that if the West had its way, there would be a “direct and irreversible collapse of today’s Russia.”

Before he blamed the West for trying to foment a “violent civil war” inside Russia.

He said on Telegram: Tens of millions of victims. The death of our future. The collapse of everything in the world.

Rampant Putin boasts Russia has ‘unstoppable’ missiles and issues dire warning to West in two-hour Tucker Carlson speech

“Do these idiots really believe that the people of Russia will swallow such a division of their country?”

Before ending his tirade by asking Russia if they would rather live in a country fighting using nuclear weapons or in a “dying, collapsing country” until Russia “disappears”.

Putin’s weapon

The Russian tyrant has a collection of over 6,000 terrifying superweapons at his disposal.

A vast collection of nuclear warheads can be launched from land, sea and air.

He is even expected to send a nuclear bomb into space.

These hypersonic nuclear missiles could hit “all the other beautiful historic sites that have long been included in our nuclear triad flight targets.”

Putin also talked about extremely powerful weapons, including so-called ‘unstoppable’ missiles in his controversial interview with Tucker Carlson.

Saying: “We have created hypersonic systems with intercontinental range and continue to develop them.

“We are now ahead of everyone, the US and other countries, in terms of developing hypersonic strike systems.

“And we improve them every day.”

Putin has previously said he has equipment for every imaginable scenario and has assured the world that his artillery is capable of mass destruction.

He had previously boasted that he would use nuclear weapons against the West if anyone interfered in Ukraine.

He even went so far as to issue a thinly veiled threat to nuke the West before declaring that he was “not bluffing.”

He ordered Russia’s first mobilization since World War II, telling the West that if Moscow continued what he called “nuclear blackmail,” it would respond with the full force of its vast arsenal.

Medvedev also suggested that Ukrainian officials in Kiev and Western governments should leave Putin alone and allow him to take back the parts of Ukraine he considers Russian.

Otherwise, he said, Russia will take matters into its own hands and cause “maximum losses for the enemy.”

He compared the situation to the recent Russian victory in Avdiivka, Ukraine, when Putin’s troops managed to resist Zelensky’s men and drive them out of the devastated area.
