Sarah Jessica Parker’s Breezy Shirt and Skirt from AJLT… Is the Practical Carrie Bradshaw ’Fit We’re Wearing Now

Welcome to The Blueprint, where we take apart the celebrity looks we want to wear right now and recreate them, piece by piece.

Sometimes I wish I could just park myself in Carrie Bradshaw’s closet and have my own fashion show. I would immediately throw on her tulle tutu and a pair of sparkly Manolo pants because they, along with the rest of her outfit and accessories, are my blueprint.

And now that the actors are currently filming the third season And just like that…, I’m already getting carried away with ideas for spring. Last week, Sarah Jessica Parker was seen on set in a questionably functional outfit that I’m already collecting pieces for. Styled by Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago, the show’s costume designers, she wore a flowy shirt with a bow, just like Gwyneth Paltrow’s, and a flowing skirt (also a celebrity staple) to accessorize.

Some of Bradshaw’s fits are a bit over the top to be honest. But this one? It’s the ultimate spring combo that has so much versatility. It won’t be super stuffy like a leather jacket and a pair of thick jeans, so it should be pretty comfortable too. It’s also a nice way to break up the monotony of my typical spring and summer shorts.

Parker’s skirt on set was very voluminous and no doubt would have clung to her as she walked and half jumped through the streets. (Oddly enough, it also reminded me of the time she wore a prom dress.)

But I like to buy things that I know I can wear for a variety of things, and since this $35 Anrabess skirt is a bit longer, I envision styling it for both work and play. In addition, one customer, who bought it in white, said it “made me feel like a fairy princess”.

For her blouse, this button-down shirt is a perfect match thanks to its spring hue. While it doesn’t have the big bow or chiffon look of the Bradshaw (which is why you opt for these tops from Amazon and H&M respectively), it should still prevent overheating as it’s made from cotton, which ranks high on the breathability spectrum. It comes in sizes S to XXL, so I can size up if I want to wear it oversized with bike shorts, bikinis or leggings.

Bradshaw also never shies away from bold accessories: her handbag looked like a Gucci Jackie bag, and was partially decorated with colorful rhinestones. This bright bag is both a shoulder bag, which we see on celebrities all the time, and a shoulder bag, so it can do double duty. I also found this off white one that is glitter free and has a belt to match the green shirt.

I’m already excited for the fashion in season three AJLT…and in the meantime, I’ll be shopping for more airy blouses and skirts inspired by Sarah Jessica Parker’s character.
