Sister Wives' Christine and Janelle Hope Ex Kody Mends His Relationships with Their Kids: 'There's Such a Burnt Bridge'

Janelle Brown and Christine Brown Woolley may be done with ex Kody Brown, but they don’t want their kids to be.

In a new interview for Extra in front Sister wives‘ In Season 19, the stars admitted they want Kody — who fathers 18 children together with Janelle, Christina, ex-wife Meri Brown and his current wife Robyn Brown — to mend the “burnt bridge” between him and his children.

Despite their marriages to Kody being long over, both wives “wish him well,” they said in an interview published Friday, Oct. 11. Kody and Christine announced they were splitting in 2021, while he and Janelle confirmed they split in 2022.

Christine, who is now married to David Woolley, told the newspaper: “I would like him to have a relationship with his children.” She continued: “My heart is broken for him because his children are some of the best people I know. His children are phenomenal people and I love having them in my life.”

Children, Janelle added, are the “glue” of the family. “I feel like we’re in orbit around those kids,” she said.

Hitting back, Christine – who was “spiritually married” to Kody for 25 years – said she and Janelle were the real “glue” of the group. “I think it’s us. You and I are the glue because after that we decided to continue being ‘sister wives,’” she said, referring to their breakups with Kody.

Meanwhile, Janelle remained convinced that they were children.

“Maybe,” Christine said. “Come on kids, they have a secret text message thread that Christine and I are not a part of. It’s a ride or die text… They’re all talking, we don’t know what’s always going on.”

Sister wives: Kody claims he didn’t ‘intend to leave’ Christine, Janelle and Meri ‘no matter how much I didn’t love them’

No matter who is the real “glue” for Sister wives Christine told Extra that she wished Kody would talk to her kids more often, revealing that she told her kids, “‘Look, when your dad calls, you have to answer and you have to talk to him because he’s a person and he’s your dad. You have to respect that.’ ”

But the responsibility for making the calls mostly falls on Kody, Janelle added. “There’s a bridge burned,” she told the newspaper. “I think it could be matched, but it would take a lot of work and I really feel like the burden of that work is on Kody.”

Christine and Kody have six children: daughters Aspyn, 28, Mykelti, 27, Gwendlyn, 22, Ysabel, 20, True, 13, and son Paedon, 25.

Janelle also welcomed six children with Kody: daughters Madison, 27, Savanah, 19, and sons Logan, 29, Hunter, 27, Gabriel, 22, and Garrison, who died by apparent suicide in March 2024 at the age of 25. .

The last time she saw Kody, Janelle told Extra, was after Garrison’s death, adding that given the circumstances, “Of course I interacted with Kody more.”

As for how the family is doing after Garrison’s death, Janelle said “they’re all in a pretty good space.”

“I feel like it’s actually brought us closer together. We’re really checking each other out now,” she said. “Now we’re asking about mental health and waiting for the right answer. We’re not necessarily writing it off.”
