Snoop Dogg Launches New Jewelry Collection Partially Inspired by His Family but Says 'They Don't Get an Opinion'

Snoop Dogg is a devout family man, but one thing he’s learned is when to include his family in his endeavors and when to keep them out.

The rap legend launched a new collection of fine jewelry in collaboration with Metal Alchemist and gamma. and as with most of his business, his family is at the center of it all.

And while his wife, kids and grandkids are part of the inspiration behind the line, the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” hitmaker said they weren’t even close to creating the actual pieces.

“They don’t need to get an opinion because then we’d never release the line,” he joked to reporters during the launch of Lovechild held at Passes in Hollywood, California on November 13.

“Too many cooks in the kitchen… This is a partnership, so I am the energy of my family. I bring their energy to the table. I know what my wife, children, grandchildren [want]. I am their representative because I am the king of the family. So it’s my job to make sure it’s presented in the right way,” he explained.

The collection consists of 45 pieces representing Snoop and his family. “When we introduce the queen, she likes it, when we introduce the prince, the boy likes it, when we introduce the princess, the girl likes it. The grandchildren will love it,” he joked, alluding to the fact that his grandchildren, all under 10 , be good whatever they get.

He continued: “It’s more about me, drawing my energy and bringing it to the table so we don’t have so many people in the kitchen cooking. That’s when the meal is thrown away – when everyone wants to put something on the grill. We have steaks on the grill and someone wants to put a winer there, it won’t add up.”

Snoop shares three children Corde (30), Cordell (27) and Cori (25) with his wife Shante Broadus, 27 years his junior. He is also the father of 26-year-old Julian from another relationship. In addition, the “Znakova” singer and his wife are the grandparents of seven children.

Lovechild is a collaboration between Snoop, Carolyn Rafaelian, founder of Metal Alchemist, and Larry Jackson, co-founder of Gamma. The collection launched on November 13th for pre-order on Snoop.Love and will be available at retail exclusively at Reeds 57 locations and online at reeds.com on December 6th.

Lovechild is hardly the only project Snoop Dogg has worked on. Earlier this month, the Doggfather himself released “Gorgeous,” the first track from his upcoming album Missionarywith vocals by Jhené Aiko and production by Dr. Dre.

The song was accompanied by a corresponding lyric video, as well as the official tracklist for the album produced by Dr. Dre — with several collaborators including Eminem, 50 Cent, Jelly Roll, Sting, KAAN, Method Man and more.

Missionary marks the first time that Dr. Dre and Snoop have worked together on a full-length since his 1993 debut LP. Doggy style. The upcoming album will be released on December 13 via Death Row, Aftermath and Interscope.
