In March 2022, PEOPLE confirmed the couple’s engagement after Euphoria the actress was spotted with a diamond ring on her left ring finger.

“I’ve been in a steady relationship for a very long time, which is not normal in this industry and not normal for my age,” Sweeney said Glamor UK in December 2023, adding that Davino is her “best friend.”

December 2019: Sydney Sweeney talks about wanting to settle in Chicago

During an interview with Elite Daily, Sweeney seemingly mentioned Davin when she talked about someday wanting to live in Chicago, where Davin’s family owns 14th Round and Finalbell, a device technology and packaging company.

“I belong there,” she told the publication. “It’s like my escape.” When asked who she knew in Chicago, she shyly answered: “Friends.”

November 2020: Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino on vacation in Maui

Almost a year after discussing settling down in Chicago, Sweeney and Davino traveled to Maui, Hawaii for a romantic getaway. During the trip, the two were seen hugging and sharing a kiss while taking a dip in the water.

February 2022: Sydney Sweeney talks about not dating people in the limelight

Sweeney gave a rare glimpse into her personal life during her cover for Cosmopolitan‘s Love Issue.

When asked what she’s looking for in a partner, she replied: “I’m looking for a best friend. I have to be able to be with someone who I can literally hang out with 24 hours a day and we never get sick and we laugh every day.”

On February 28, 2022, Sweeney was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger, leading many to wonder if Davino had popped the question. Soon after, PEOPLE confirmed that the couple had become engaged.

March 23, 2022: Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino have a spa day after their engagement

The newly engaged couple were spotted outside a spa in Los Angeles with Sweeney’s dog enjoying a day out together.

Sweeney briefly stepped outside the spa to make a phone call in a white robe embroidered with the logo of her television series White lotus. It was the first time Sweeney and Davino have been seen together since their engagement became public.

July 2022: Sydney Sweeney says she wants to be a new mom

During the interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sweeney opened up about her future plans outside of Hollywood. “I want to have a family, I’ve always wanted to be a young mom,” she told the publication.

The Euphoria star also discussed her concerns about the “stigma” the industry puts on young women who have children and how taking time off to raise a family could affect her career.

“If I wanted to take a six-month break, I don’t have the income to cover it,” she explained. “I have no one to support me, no one to turn to, pay bills or call for help.”

Despite talking about his family aspirations, THR noted that Sweeney was “declining[d] to comment on her relationship status and not wear a ring to an interview.”

On May 21, Sweeney was seen leaving her hotel in Cannes, France with Davina on her arm. The actress was all smiles as she greeted fans as she was escorted out by her fiance.

Sweeney and Davino were photographed in New York after dinner at the Cathedrale restaurant. The Euphoria star and her fiance looked chic in black outfits.

August 9, 2023: Sydney Sweeney says she doesn’t care about Glen Powell romance rumors

Sweeney will star opposite Glen Powell in the upcoming romantic comedy Anyone but you. During filming in Australia, the pair became close and fans began to speculate that a romance was brewing between them. The rumors were then fueled by Powell’s divorce from his then-girlfriend Gigi Paris.

“It’s a rom-com. It’s what people want!” Sweeney said Diversity when talking about rumours. “Glen and I don’t really care. We have a lot of fun together and we respect each other a lot; he’s such a hard worker and I’m such a hard worker.”

She added: “They want it. It’s fun to give it to them.”
