The Ultimatum's Roxanne Kaiser and Antonio Mattei Marry in 'Modern, Fresh' Persian Wedding: See the Photos! (Exclusive)

UltimatumRoxanne Kaiser and Antonio Mattei got married!

The fan-favorite couple tied the knot on Saturday, October 26, at Chateau Elan, located just outside of Atlanta, where they had a short American ceremony, followed by a traditional Persian wedding.

“What I love most is the rich symbolism,” Kaiser tells PEOPLE exclusively of her Persian celebration. “Each item on the Sofreh Aghd represents aspects of the couple’s new life together and marriage. For example, our Sofreh Aghd will include rock candy, which symbolizes sweet life, and a large mirror which represents light and brightness for our future. There is also a beautiful moment in where we dip our pinky fingers in honey and share it with each other, signifying the sweetness of our future together.”

It was especially important for Kaiser to include Sofreh Aghd in her special day because her father and sister did so for their own weddings.

Almost 150 wedding guests were invited to the celebration, including Kelly Chase from the first season Love is blind and Mal Wright from Ultimatum: Queer love. However, no one from the couple’s season was invited because they did not stay in contact with anyone from Ultimatum: Get married or move on from a “stressful” reunion.

“Being surrounded by friends and family is everything to us,” Kaiser tells PEOPLE. “As everyone gets older and juggles their busy lives — work, kids, families — it’s becoming increasingly challenging and rare to get everyone together in one place. That’s why I love that our wedding serves as a reason for everyone to come together and reconnect for the entire weekend . That makes this occasion incredibly special and meaningful!”

She continues: “I’ve never been one to look at a wedding as a fairytale or a dream come true — it’s just not my vibe. For me, it’s all about bringing the people we love together to celebrate the commitment, dedication and connection of our vows, it’s time to share the joy of our marriage.”

Kaiser walked down the aisle to “Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Daniel Young. For her wedding dress, she chose “Alix” Blanche Bridal from White Magnolia. The ball gown featured a plunging neckline, side slits on the bodice and a soft V-shaped back.

“I was going for a moody, edgy look inspired by Madonna,” explains Kaiser. “I never imagined I’d choose a dress with such a long train or go for a strapless style. I loved the simplicity of the dress combined with its intricate details and beauty. I also knew I wanted to elevate the look with platforms and an amazing Honestly, the custom choker vision is came first and the dress perfectly matched my vision.”

After exchanging handwritten vows, the couple danced to Sam Cooke’s “Nothing Can Change This Love,” a song they say they probably danced to “at least 100 times” in their kitchen.

Chateau Elan and YES Events hosted a post-wedding “dinner in the vineyard” with a menu curated by Executive Chef Frederic Boldron and Banquet Chef James Mundy. For dessert, pastry chef Joebeth Marin prepared Raspberry Rosé.

“It will be an intimate gathering set among the vines under the stars as the sun sets,” says Kaiser. “Our theme is centered around a sophisticated neutral palette with soft whites, creams, lush greens and light wood tones. The aesthetic is modern and fresh, exuding a natural elegance that blends beautifully with the outdoor setting.”

The day after the wedding, the couple also plan to host a “post-wedding get-together” because “who doesn’t like to discuss the wedding tea?” adds Kaiser.

Kaiser and Mattei got engaged during the second season of the hit series despite seemingly being on different pages about marriage. In June, Kaiser told PEOPLE that wedding planning was “not a priority.” Even “two weeks before the wedding, marriage was still not on my mind” because of work.

“Honestly, marriage was the furthest thing from my mind,” he admits. “I think any entrepreneur would agree that whether you believe in the institution or not, planning a wedding just doesn’t take precedence when there are so many other pressing commitments. That doesn’t mean I’m any less committed or in love with Antonio. It just means that it wasn’t the first item on my to-do list every day.”

As for pre-wedding nerves, Kaiser says Mattei was quick to offer her reassurance.

“His response is always, ‘I’m SO excited!’ And honestly, I like that answer,” she says. “He’s simple, honest and he’s not trying to convince me of anything. He’s just excited and that reassures me that nothing has changed for him. He’s all for it, and that helps me feel more relaxed.”

Kaiser adds that there is one issue that has been continuously addressed Ultimatum it was her need to contribute equally to Mattea, especially financially, in the relationship.

“Without going into too much detail – he did just that, and in just two short years,” she says.

“I got a lot of criticism for that, and people said, ‘Roxanne, you’re pushing him too hard’ or ‘You’re making him do something he doesn’t want to do.’ Fast forward two years, and Antonio is now a successful business owner, absolutely destroying it as a boss and owner, and his Tint World franchise is becoming top notch.”

She adds, “So much has changed since filming, both in our lives and in our relationship. Antonio and I have taken incredible steps to improve and strengthen what we have.”

For a couple, marriage is an extension of their commitment to each other.

“Even without the title of ‘marriage,’ Antonio and I have already prioritized each other, dedicated to making our life together better. For me, marriage doesn’t change that basis; on the contrary, it raises the level of seriousness in our relationship,” Kaiser shares.

Mattei adds, “Marriage means two people making a lifetime commitment to never leave each other, no matter what, we’ll always be honest with each other and push each other to always do the right thing. We’ll push each other to be people on that we want our children to look up to one day and lift each other up when the way forward is not so clear. It means having faith in something bigger than myself and it gave me a sense of freedom to create a new identity to look up to as a child, with Roxanne on my side.”

The newlyweds first met at a party Kaiser threw for a mutual friend in 2013. At the time, Mattei was in a relationship, so the couple didn’t connect except by exchanging pleasantries. “No social media following, no conversation – just one encounter that left a lasting impression.”

“Fast forward to 2020: We were both newly single, and I was reminiscing about that one guy from years ago,” says Kaiser. “I jokingly turned to a mutual friend, asking him, ‘Who was that guy at that party?’ After some searching, we exchanged numbers and arranged a group date just a few days later.”

Although the two had a great first date, they both knew they weren’t in the right place for anything serious. Kaiser and Mattei went through the cycle again, off again “for what seemed like forever” until they finally decided to test the waters for an engagement during filming Ultimatum.

“While it may seem effortless, putting such a personal moment out there for the world to see, judge and critique is no small feat,” Kaiser says of Mattei’s proposal. “Our love story is unique, and we’ve been leading it through everything in front of the public.”

Kaiser says their time on the show was crucial to their relationship.

“Going through that experience really bonds you in a unique way. Like I said before, it’s like intensive therapy for months, where you’re forced to face what you really want from your partner, your relationship, and your life. He held us accountable for that. for the changes we committed to making. In a way, it felt like we were making public vows — ones that millions of people were watching — and we had to keep those promises to each other.”

For now, honeymoon plans are on hold.

“For now, we’re committed to work, but we’re hoping to sneak in a trip together in the next few months,” says Kaiser, noting that she and Mattei have never taken a trip, just the two of them. Italy is at the top of their list!

The couple is looking forward to married life. Although the future is busy for the two — Kaiser is focusing on growing his new mental health business, Proxy, and Mattei is preparing to build another Tint World location in Atlanta — they’ve begun discussing the best timing for starting a family.

“Honestly, achieving common goals together feels like an incredible accomplishment—it’s like saying, ‘Wow, look what we’ve done!'” says Kaiser. “Antonio and I are definitely on the same page when it comes to wanting children and I know that parenthood will be both a rewarding and challenging adventure for us. Plus, I can’t wait to just laugh along the way. Antonio’s sense of humor always remains me smiling.”
