Tom Holland’s father is rooting for the actor and Zendaya.
In a Patreon post published on Friday, January 10, Dominic Holland wrote about his eldest child’s romance with the 28-year-old actress and how he believes it’s meant to last, despite the challenges of being a couple in the public eye.
“I fear their combined stardom will heighten their attention and proportionate demands on them, yet they constantly baffle me by handling everything with aplomb,” Dominic, 57, said of the recently engaged couple.
He then expressed his belief that “showbiz is a messy place for relationships, especially for celebrity couples because they crash and burn in public and there are too many to mention”, Dominic pointed to his relationship with wife Nikki Holland as an “example” for Tom, 28, and Zendaya to look up to.
“With Nikki running this family and my ‘wisdom’ at work and studying how to get things mostly wrong and yet somehow get it right at the same time, I am fully confident that they will have a successful union,” Dominic wrote.

Tom and Zendaya — who play the movie couple of Peter Parker and Michelle “MJ” Jones in the Spider-Man films — initially claimed for years that they were just friends and not in a romantic relationship.
They were eventually seen kissing in a car in July 2021, confirming their off-screen romance.

Earlier this month, Zendaya attended the 2025 Golden Globes wearing a diamond ring on her left hand, sparking engagement speculation. A family source later confirmed to PEOPLE that the couple intends to marry.
“He was always crazy about her. He always knew she was the one. They have something very special,” another insider said of Tom, adding that the star shared the news of the engagement with friends around New Year’s.

Over the years, Tom and Zendaya have opened up about managing their romance as public figures and why it’s important to them both to keep their relationship private.
“One of the downsides of our fame is that privacy is no longer in our control, and a moment you think is between two people who love each other very much is now a moment shared with the whole world,” Tom said in a November 2021 interview. GQ.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter in June 2023, Tom reiterated why he and Zendaya prefer to keep their relationship private.
“Our relationship is something we’re incredibly protective of and we want to keep it as sacred as possible,” he explained. “We don’t think we owe it to anyone, it’s our business and has nothing to do with our careers.”
The following month, Tom revealed that his relationship with Euphoria a star is something he considers “the most sacred” in life. “I don’t talk about it. I do my best to keep it as private as possible,” he said in a guest appearance on Intentionally with Jay Shetty podcast. “We both feel strongly that this is the healthiest way to move forward as a couple.”
