It’s never boring between the walls Transplant‘s York Memorial Hospital.
The medical drama — which follows Syrian doctor and refugee Bashir “Bash” Hamed (Hamza Haq) as he seeks Canadian citizenship for himself and his younger sister Amira (Sirena Gulamgaus) — returns for its third season next month, and PEOPLE has an exclusive First Look!
“He comes to terms with his time in captivity in Syria when he was captured by regime soldiers and is haunted by the presence of the ghost of the man who was locked with him,” Haq told TVMeg of the upcoming season in July. 2022 “It was a difficult story point to shoot, to achieve.”

The Season 3 teaser opens with Bash and resident Magalie “Mags” Leblanc (Laurence Leboeuf) operating on a patient, with Bash claiming he did what he had to “to save his life.”
“Without thinking about the risks,” Mags retorts. – You are reckless.
Despite the tense exchange, the teaser cuts to a moment where Bash and Mags share a passionate kiss, finally realizing their long-standing chemistry after two seasons.

Clips of Bash and Mags smiling under the sheets, kissing over glasses of wine and discussing Bash’s intimate issues are interspersed between scenes of the cast dealing with difficult patients in the emergency department, including one man violently assaulting another, before finally pulling out a gun.
“Is it always like this?” asks Theo Hunter (Jim Watson).
This season also promises more changes thanks to new boss Neeti Devi (Rekha Sharma). Elsewhere, Devi replaces Jed Bishop (John Hannah) as head of emergency medicine with the goal of revamping the department, drawing on her experience practicing medicine in the US
