After a whirlwind summer with girlfriend Taylor Swift and reuniting with teammates at training camp, NFL star Travis Kelce returned to the field during the Kansas City Chiefs’ first preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The tight end, 34, took the field at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla., on Saturday, Aug. 10, for the first time since the Chiefs’ Super Bowl LVIII victory over the San Francisco 49ers in February.
Ahead of the game, Kelce was spotted on the Chiefs’ official Instagram account sporting a stylish look that consisted of a button-down shirt, khaki pants, gold sunglasses, a matching gold chain, and a cap that read “Superbad” — written in the 2007 comedy poster font — and some Nike shoes in Chiefs colors: red and gold.

Although the Chiefs faced a tough loss, losing to the Jaguars 13-26, Kelce and several of his teammates — including rookie Carson Steele, who scored a high-energy touchdown, and controversial kicker Harrison Butker, who hit a 45-yard punt — made some solid plays. playing.
The game featured a new NFL rule regarding kickoffs, and several critics — among them, Tyler Sullivan of CBS Sports — wrote that it could be something the team collectively needs to work on.
“One of the main takeaways from that first half is that the Chiefs clearly need to work on a new kickoff,” Sullivan wrote. “A lot of fighting in multiple areas.”

During the NFL offseason, Kelce spent much of his vacation with Swift, also 34, while she continued to perform the international legs of her record-breaking Eras Tour.
In addition to watching the singer perform in European cities including Paris, Amsterdam and London, where Kelce also appeared on stage with Swift, the couple also vacationed together in the Bahamas in March and went on a romantic getaway to Italy in May.
In late July, Kelce’s focus returned to football, as the Chiefs began training camp on July 21 to begin preparations for the 2024-25 NFL season.

At the time, 16-year-old fan Hannah Calhoun told PEOPLE she came to training camp from as far as Lexington, Ky., with her parents to see Kelce — even bringing friendship bracelets and a sign that read, “Travis, I have an empty space, so come write your name.”
“I love Taylor and I think she’s a great role model and so I love that my daughter has her to look up to, so we thought, ‘Let’s do it, let’s go out and see Travis Kelce,'” Hannah’s mom Alison said.
