Vince Vaughn Shouts Out 'Beautiful Wife' Kyla and Their Kids During Touching Walk of Fame Speech

Vince Vaughn feels the love of his family as he receives his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The actor was presented with the 2,786th star on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles on Monday, August 12, and his longtime friend and producing partner Peter Billingsley and Bad monkey co-creator and producer Bill Lawrence.

Vaughn, 54, then took the stage to express support for his loved ones, including many who gathered for the ceremony: his parents, Sharon and Vernon Vaughn, his two older sisters, his aunt, many friends — and of course, his husband, Kyle and their two children Locklyn, 13, and Vernon, 11.

“My beautiful wife Kyla – I’m so glad you’re with me on this,” Vaughn told his wife from the podium. “I am so thankful for you and these beautiful children, and for all the laughs we share together.”

He added, “And as much as all of this means, Vernon and Locklyn, and these honors, you guys really need to know that you guys are the most important thing in the world to me.”

Vince Vaughn’s two children make a rare appearance as they support their father at the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony

“You’re not that lucrative – you don’t give me access to the things this species does,” Vaughn joked, “but with all that said, you’re the most important, and I love you both very much. It’s great to have you with me.”

The Wedding Crashers the actor earlier in his speech said that he was inspired to do comedy after seeing movies like House for animals with his sisters, which is why he “really wanted to be a part” of “the laughter I experienced in the theater”.

“[I felt like] I could do that and maybe make people laugh and give families a good night to discuss things and be merry,” he said.

For Vaughn, the desire to bring laughter and joy to families came from his own upbringing largely thanks to his parents, who gave him “the gift of storytelling and watching movies and laughing and talking about them afterward.”

In a statement ahead of the ceremony, Hollywood Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez said in a statement, “The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to honor multi-hyphenate Vince Vaughn with a coveted star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”

“From his work in television to film, Vince has made a huge impact on the world of entertainment and we are excited to celebrate his achievements with this dedication ceremony,” she added.

In his speech, swingers the actor said: “I should be very humbled to be here today involved in such a tradition, but the truth is I feel quite empowered,” joking, “It’s all going to my head. And I’m starting to feel like I’ve got a full head. ”

“Thanks to the council for getting me involved,” Vaughn added. “To all the fans out there who have supported me over the years, to all my reps and friends and collaborators that I share this with. I’m so grateful to be involved in this.”
