Vincent Gallo Accused by Two Actresses for Alleged Inappropriate Conduct During Film Auditions

SAG-AFTRA received complaints in November 2023 and launched an investigation into the insertion process

Actor Vincent Gallo has been accused of making sexually explicit and threatening comments to two actresses, according to a report from Rolling stone.

In November 2023, two women auditioned for Police officer when Gallo allegedly made sexually explicit comments. The two auditioned for the movie roles of victims opposite Gallo’s character, “Golden State Killer” Joseph James DeAngelo.

The actresses then filed complaints with the SAG-AFTRA union about Gallo’s behavior during the casting process. The union then reacted by launching an investigation into the casting of the film.

A spokesperson for SAG-AFTRA confirms to PEOPLE that an investigation began after complaints were filed.

“We are aware of these complaints and are conducting an investigation. We have cooperated extensively with the production regarding the complaints and, while filming has concluded, we are continuing to monitor and investigate. We also reaffirm our commitment to providing a safe and respectful environment on set,” they said.

Additionally, “Gallo did not respond to multiple requests for comment,” per Rolling stone.

Pacific Media Productions representatives and director Jordan Gertner told the publication, “The production of the picture took place in a safe, secure and respectful environment.” They also shared that a SAG-AFTRA intimacy coordinator was hired for the production.

Representatives for Pacific Media Productions did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment. Contact information for Gallo was not available.

Emily reportedly claimed that Gallo told her during the call back that the film was looking for “an actor with no boundaries because he, playing DeAngelo, can decide at any time during filming to improvise lines and sex acts.”

Per Rolling stones report, Gallo allegedly told Emily that he would “make sure” that “everything was simulated” and that it would be made to look “real.”

“I’m also going to make sure it feels real to you,” Gallo said, according to Emily’s complaint. “I might also notice something about your body and comment on it, and it might be positive or negative, and it won’t be personal, but it’ll be something real, so it feels personal.”

Gallo reportedly said this to Emily during production: “We don’t want to see any acting. If DeAngelo says, ‘Don’t scream’ or ‘I’m going to kill you,’ don’t scream, because if you do, you’re going to die.”

According to Rolling stoneEmily claimed that Gallo told her that she would have been cast for the role if she had followed his demands.

Jane stated in her complaint, as reported Rolling stone, that Gallo detailed “torture porn fantasies.” He also reportedly informed Jane that he wanted the film to be improvised and that the script “would bear very little resemblance to what was going to be filmed.”

According to Jane’s complaint, the actor said the improvisations could include simulating rape, murder or physical assault, as well as being pushed, pulled by the hair and tied up with shoelaces.
