Who Is Becky G’s Fiancé? All About Sebastian Lletget

Becky G and her fiance Sebastian Lletget are giving their romance a second chance.

After rumors of infidelity, the couple were thought to have split. However, in November 2023, Becky G and Lletget were seen together for the first time in eight months at Porter Ranch in California.

In March 2023, the professional footballer released a statement talking about a “10-minute delay in judgment” and an alleged “extortion plot” after an Instagram user claimed to have “full proof” that he had allegedly been unfaithful to the “Shower” singer .

Lletget added that he is willing to do “whatever it takes to win back” Becky G’s trust, including committing to a “mental health program.”

Before the alleged cheating scandal, Becky G and Lletget announced their engagement in December 2022. The couple were set up by friends in June 2016.

And while they’ve been together for years, Becky G told PEOPLE in October 2022 that their relationship still feels “brand new.”

“We’ve been together for over six years and it’s completely new in a lot of ways because we’re really embracing the shifts and changes that are happening in our lives, within ourselves and supporting each other through it,” the singer shared, adding that Lletget is her “best friend “.

He is a football player

Lletget is a professional soccer player and midfielder for FC Dallas. He previously played for the New England Revolution, LA Galaxy and English Premier League club West Ham United.

Lletget earned a spot on the United States men’s national team in 2017. Becky G showed her support on Instagram, writing him a sweet message the day after his debut match. “Such a proud moment to watch you walk out onto the field in that jersey yesterday. I don’t know anyone who deserves this opportunity more,” she wrote in part.

Lletget was invited to play in the team again in 2021 for the Concacaf Gold Cup, and the team took home the trophy. He celebrated the win with Becky G in Las Vegas, where the pair enjoyed an impressive breakfast and views of the skyline.

He met Becky G through a former teammate

While at West Ham United, Lletget played alongside Jordan Spence, who is married to actress Naomi Scott. Scott and Becky G formed a close friendship during the filming of their movie Power Rangerswhich led to Scott playing matchmaker in June 2016.

“So we met through Jordan and Naomi, who played Cupid for us,” Lletget said in a profile of the US men’s national team. “I love the way we met because it’s different than how it works with most people today, meeting online or through a social app. It was really organic and almost old-fashioned.”

He and Becky G bonded over their Latino identity

Lletget was born in San Francisco and is of Argentine descent. Becky G previously told PEOPLE that their shared Latino background not only helped them bond, but also helped Lletget build a bond with her family.

“He can communicate with me abuelitos. It’s sweet. It’s so sweet. It’s just a different connection, I think, when someone connects with your culture. But even then, within the Latinx community, there are so many differences,” the singer told PEOPLE.

“Culturally, we take so much from each other and learn from each other. He’s an honorary Mexican at this point,” she added. “He really is. He’s totally embraced by my family, for sure.”

He is an Italian citizen

Lletget was scouted by West Ham United when he was just 13 and offered a place in the team after just one day of trials. However, he was unable to join the team full-time until he received his European passport. In the end, he received Italian citizenship through his maternal grandfather.

He is known for his selfies

The California native is at the top of his social media game and has earned a reputation as the “Selfie King” among teammates and fans. Lletget explained his selfie-taking process in the US men’s national team profile.

“Taking the perfect selfie is easy,” he laughed. “It’s all in the corner. And my expression? I try not to think about it. I guess I keep it as masculine and cool as possible. I kind of give people a platform to have fun with it. I know people are I’ll joke about selfies, but I enjoy that aspect.”

He and Becky G are each other’s biggest supporters

Becky G and Lletget have always been there for each other’s biggest milestones. In November 2022, Lletget was with the singer at the Latin Grammy Awards. The athlete celebrated the success of his loved one – she was nominated for four awards – on Instagram with a sweet post. “Singing is not really my thing, but I still took home the best prize 🥇🖤”, he wrote next to their photo on the red carpet.

And despite her busy schedule, Becky G finds time to go to as many of Lletget’s games as possible and has become something of a good luck charm for the team.

“It became a superstition. Obviously, when I’m there, he’s doing really, really well. And so his coach said, ‘You’ve got to be in a playoff game.’ I said, ‘OK, let me see what I can do.’ And so I’ll be there,” she told PEOPLE.

He appeared in Becky G’s music video

While stuck at home during the COVID-19 pandemic, Becky G and Lletget turned their relationship into art by filming a music video for her song “My Man.” In the video, styled like an 8-bit computer game, the duo compete in a push-up challenge, a game of Twister and a soccer skills competition.

“The music video is a true moment that has now been captured forever,” Becky G said in a press release via Rolling stone. “This pandemic will be something Sebastian and I will never forget. Sharing a ‘fly on the wall’ view of our goofy and competitive side behind closed doors and what people don’t usually get a chance to see was so much fun. We really didn’t feel like we were filming video, it was just us.”

Becky G spoke further about the project during an interview with E! News, explaining how she and Lletget were excited to show fans a new side of their romance.

“Even though we’re very open about our relationship, at the same time we’re still very private. The fans couldn’t see that side of our relationship. They see Seb as the professional athlete that he is, and they see me as the professional artist that I am, but on at the end of the day, we’re each other’s best friends,” she said. “We’ve been going through that during quarantine, too, and to share that little bit of light with our fans, I think was really special.”

He was accused of cheating on Becky G in March 2023

In late March, a woman posted on Instagram claiming to have proof that Lletget was cheating on Becky G, po Remzcla. Then the screen recording from the Instagram account started appeared on Twitterwhich appears to show the user’s DMs with the athlete and alleged voice messages between the two.

On March 27, Lletget directly responded to the rumors with a lengthy statement on Instagram.

“Over the past few weeks, in a moment that I deeply regret, a 10-minute delay in judgment has resulted in extortion. Because this person did not get what they wanted, it has now become a public spectacle on social media filled with more lies than any truth and fake posts aimed at the love of my life, the one person I should never take for granted or put in danger,” he wrote in part. “Although this anonymous stalker – whom I never met, contrary to what they claimed – had an ultimate goal that was not clear, it was a wake-up call for me. The loudest alarm of my life.”

Lletget continued, adding that he “can’t run from demons.”

“If I’m the man I want to be, I have to be better. I’ve decided to commit to a mental health program that will work on the parts of me that deeply need healing,” he wrote, before ending his note with a personal message to Becky G.

“To Becky, you were the light in my life, my strength, always showing me unconditional love,” he wrote. “Instead of honoring that love every day, I did the opposite, hurting you and disrespecting the one person I love more than anything. I’m so sorry and I know I have to do whatever it takes to earn back the trust and love I deserve you.”
