The Grammy-winning performer — whose real name is Usher Raymond IV — and the record executive first sparked dating rumors when they were photographed together at producer Keith Thomas’ 40th birthday party in June 2019.
Usher and Goicoechea welcomed their first child together, daughter Sovereign Bo, in 2020, followed by a son, Sire Castrello, in 2021. Usher also shares two sons, Usher V and Navid Ely, with his ex-wife, Tameka Foster.

He opened up more about his commitment to Goicoechea just days before the two tied the knot, telling PEOPLE in February 2024, “Listen, when you find someone who you know is a great partner, of course it’s an honor and a pleasure to be able to share life with someone who wants to share it with you and loves you, who you are.”
He continued: “Obviously we committed to a life together for the sake of our children,” he added. “It wouldn’t be weird if we got married. We’re already here. You know what I’m saying? I really feel like I have an amazing partner that I respect.”

Since 1988, Barbara has been the Director of Operations at ACT Productions, an event and multimedia production company based in Miami. Working with her mother gave Goicoechea the opportunity to get the position of singer Ciara’s assistant, which started her career in Entertainment.
On Mother’s Day 2020, Goicoechea posted a memory of herself as a child and paid tribute to her mother.
