Zendaya Says She Helped Timothée Chalamet Furnish His First N.Y.C. Apartment: ‘The Vibe Was Very Teenage Boy’

Zendaya is here because of her friend Timothée Chalamet.

“Personally speaking, I have great friendships with everyone here,” Chalamet told host Jimmy Kimmel, who asked if the four were friends before filming the upcoming sci-fi sequel. “Zendaya helped me decorate my first apartment in New York years ago.”

“Well, the vibe was very teenage,” Zendaya added. “And we just needed a few supplies—you know, cups and plates, knives and forks, cleaning stuff. We needed some structure.”

The couple said they went to a Bed Bath & Beyond location in New York to help Chalamet get things for his apartment — including his mattress frame.

“There was a bed — no bed frame,” Chalamet joked, after Pugh suggested he didn’t even have a bed before Zendaya walked in. “We got everything he needed — all the big boy stuff,” Zendaya added.

Chalamet and Zendaya play Paul Atreides and Chani, respectively Dina: The second part. The epic will continue in 2021 Dina: The first part and meets Chalamet’s character Paul after teaming up with a group of people called the Fremen on the planet Arrakis. Butler, 32, and Pugh, 28, join the cast for the sequel, alongside franchise newcomers Léa Seydoux, Christopher Walken and Tim Blake Nelson.

Chalamet talked about his close friendship with Zendaya during the 2022 interview Diversityin which he teased that her character will get significantly more screen time in the upcoming period Dune continuation.

“She brings exactly what she brought to the first one – which was incredible – but in greater abundance,” he said at the time. “And she really has become a sister. I’m so grateful to be able to count her as a partner, a sister and a friend.”

The film also stars Dave Bautista, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård and Charlotte Rampling, all of whom appeared in the first film.
