Cardi B has confirmed her single status following rumors of her relationship with Offset.
The rapper, 31, was candid on Instagram Live over the weekend when she admitted, “I’ve been alone for a minute,” according to a livestream clip shared on X (formerly known as Twitter).
She continued: “But I was scared… I’m not scared, I just don’t know how to tell the world. But I feel like today was, like, a sign.”
Cardi B said she wants to start the new year “fresh” and “open,” as she admitted, “I’m curious about a new life, a new beginning. And yes… I’m excited.”
Timeline of Cardi B and Offset’s relationship
The relationship status update comes after the pair attended the same event on Sunday night – the TikTok In the Mix music festival in Mesa, Arizona – but were not photographed together.
Representatives of the two rappers did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

During Live, she also admitted that her recent social media activity has been full of “clues” about her relationship status. Last week, fans noticed that she and Offset – whom she married privately in 2017 – had unfollowed each other on Instagram.
“I don’t know if you guys were getting clues from me, from my lives or from my stories, when I put on some music or find my unfollow,” she said during Live.

On Dec. 4, the “Bongos” rapper shared some cryptic messages that hinted at possible relationship problems on her Instagram Stories, including, “You know when you’re just developing relationships.”
She added to the statement, “I’m tired of protecting people’s feelings… I HAVE TO PUT MYSELF FIRST.”
Offset, 31, also posted on his Instagram Story following the unfollowing news last week. It was published by a A face with a scar clip for his Story in which Al Pacino yells, “Hey, fuck you, man! Who put this together? Me! Who do I trust? Me!”

In September, the couple – who share daughter Kulture, 5, and son Wave, 2 – celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary, and Offset gave his wife an extravagant token of love by covering their home with several massive bouquets of pink and red flowers.
“Thank you for the flowers, the empowerment, the protection and being a great father to our children… I love so much about you,” the “WAP” singer wrote on Instagram as she shared a video of the impressive display.
“I love the fact that I’m with a grown man who will provide, protect and help us both GROW and can deal with my mouth, my attitude, my confidence, my weakness and all this ass!!”
In his own post on Instagram, Offset wrote about his wife: “Since meeting you, I’ve become a better man regardless of having my back and I can trust you that I’m blessed with my life to have a loyal strong woman by my side.. . you are my safe place in this crazy world.”
