Suni Lee Shares Secret to Her Paris Olympics Lip Look: Hint, It's Not a Lipstick! (Exclusive)

Suni Lee caused a stir at the Paris Olympics in more ways than one.

The 21-year-old gymnast, who won her third medal at the 2024 Games on Sunday, August 4, has made an impressive comeback since kidney disease ruled her out of the September 2023 world championships team.

It was her skills on the mat that got her to the podium, but it was her glamorous competitive looks that made the athlete a successful influence on the Olympics. Lee’s fluttery lashes and long nails (courtesy of the Kiss Salon X-tend System) have become her signature, but curious minds want to know: what is the lip combo that creates her perfect pout?

In Paris on Monday, August 5, the gymnast caught up with PEOPLE and spilled the details on her favorite lip products.

“I used Make Up For Ever Anywhere Caffeine [lip liner] and Make Up Forever Wherever Walnut [lip liner]”, she says. “I put a darker one around [my lips] and then I put Wherever Walnut on the inside of my lips.”

“I was trying to give myself grace because I didn’t, I guess, completely return to normal Suni,” she shared after the beam final. “But since I got sick, I feel like Suni is normal – she’s just a different girl now.”

At the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Lee won gold in the women’s individual all-around, becoming the first woman of Asian descent to win the title. She also won a bronze medal on the loom and a silver team medal. Lee went on to attend Auburn University, but had to drop out due to kidney problems. “I think everything means a lot more because I didn’t think I’d be here,” she said in light of her health problems. “And the very realization that I managed to overcome everything and that I never gave up, was probably the most special moment, I guess for me, in winning all those medals.”To find out more about all the Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls, come to people.com and check out the live coverage before, during and after the games.
