For Taylor Swift, who was nominated TimeThe 2023 Person of the Year election is the perfect opportunity.
In one of three cover photos for the magazine, released Wednesday, the singer poses in a long-sleeved black bodysuit and black leggings with an accessory that could at first glance be mistaken for a fluffy boa but is actually her Ragdoll cat Benjamin Button.
Swift, 33, celebrated her latest achievement by sharing the cover on her Instagram feed, posting her hilarious reaction in the caption: “Time Magazine: We’d like to name you a Yes Person / Me: Can I bring my cat.”
She shared a few more stunning pictures from the shoot, writing in part, “The biggest, loudest, most aggressively over-excited thanks to @time for making me person of the year.”

Taylor Swift’s cats: All about Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson and Benjamin Button
Swift is “mom” to three cats: Scottish fold Meredith Grey, whom she adopted in 2011; Olivia Benson, who is also a Scottish Fold and joined the family in 2014; and Benjamin, whom she had in 2019.
Benjamin’s sweet adoption story began when Swift met him as a kitten on the set of the music video for “ME!” Benjamin starred in the video alongside Meredith and Olivia, even though Swift still wasn’t his cat mom.
In a live Instagram video with Panic! at the Disco frontman Brendon Urie, Swift talked about how she took Benjamin home with her after filming the music video. “He was just a cute kitten that didn’t have a home,” she said, noting that he was part of a program that “tries to adopt cute kittens by putting them in commercials and stuff.”
When the host asked the 12-time Grammy winner if she wanted to hold the cat before their scene, she said she knew she’d come home with it then. “She gave me this tiny cat and he just started purring and … looked at me like, ‘You’re my mom and we’re going to live together.’ I fell in love,” Swift said. “I looked at Brendon and he said, ‘You’re going to get a cat, aren’t you?’ ”
A few days later, Swift introduced him to the world on Instagram with a sweet photo of the two, writing, “And then there were three…”

In his extensive interview with Timethe “Lavender Haze” singer also broke her silence on her romance with Travis Kelce and clarified the timeline of their relationship.
“We actually had a lot of time that nobody knew about, which I’m thankful for, because we got to know each other,” Swift said.
That means by the time the pop star was first seen at one of Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs games on Sept. 24, “we were a couple,” she said.
“I think some people think they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to start a first date hard,” Swift added.
As for her appreciation for her boyfriend’s sport, “Football is great, it shows,” she joked. “I’m missing out on my whole life.”
