On Friday, Taylor Swift released a cover of her favorite 2014 album. in 1989. The new version of her fifth studio album (released via Republic Records) features overdubs of the deluxe edition in 1989His 16 original songs, plus the five tracks “From the Vault” “Slut!,” “Say Don’t Go,” “Now That We Don’t Talk,” “Suburban Legends” and “Is It Over Now?”
The pop superstar, 33, took to Instagram to celebrate the release. Along with a carousel of photos, in the description she opened up about how much the album and revisiting it means to her.
“I was born in 1989, reinvented for the first time in 2014, and a part of me was brought back to 2023 with the re-release of this album I love so much. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine the magic you would sprinkle over my life for so long,” Swift wrote.
“This moment is a reflection of the forest through which we wandered and all this love between us that still shines in the darkest darkness. I present to you, with gratitude and wild wonder, my version in 1989. It was waiting for you. taylor”

1989 (Taylor version) marks the Grammy winner’s fourth re-recording, months after she called it quits Speak Now (Taylor Version) in July and after reissues in 2021 Fearless and Red.

Swift announced her return to her Grammy-winning fifth studio album — which marked her first collaboration with Jack Antonoff and major breakthrough in pop music — on stage at the final stop of the US leg of her Eras Tour at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on August 9 .
“And so now, here we are on the last night of the American leg of the Eras Tour in the eighth month of the year on the ninth day. You may have noticed that there are new outfits in the show. There’s something I’ve been planning for a really, really, really ridiculously, embarrassingly long time, and instead of telling you about it, I think I’ll just show you,” she told the crowd as she revealed the album’s cover art and big screen release date.

After the show, the “Karma” singer shared on social media how excited she is about this project. She wrote: “The in 1989 the album has changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce that my version will be released on October 27th.”
The hitmaker continued: “To be completely honest, this is my FAVORITE re-recording I’ve ever done because 5 From The Vault is so crazy. I can’t believe they were ever left. But not for long!”

1989 (Taylor Version) arrives while the Eras tour concert film of the artist “Anti-Hero” is in theaters. Upon its release, the cinematic experience broke box office records and became the highest-grossing concert film of all time.
Earlier this week, the singer-songwriter also celebrated her tenth No. 1 hit on the Board Hot 100, like her song “Cruel Summer” from 2019 Lover reached the top of the charts four years after its release.
