Christina Aguilera will be taking a trip down memory lane this Halloween!
This year, the “Genie in a Bottle” star, 42, dressed up to pay tribute to another highly influential singer.
“Tess & Ali 4EVER 🤍♾️🤍,” Aguilera wrote on Instagram Monday, referencing her and Cher’s characters in their 2010 film. Burlesque.
In the video, the Grammy winner lip-synced to the sound of herself asking her colleague what dance number he wanted to see. Cher, 77, responds, saying she wanted to see “Wagon Wheel Watusi.”
Dressed in a sassy black bodysuit with chains and fishnet stockings, Vote alum was then grooved as she posed in a photo studio in behind-the-scenes content.

The natural blonde changed up her style and sported long black loose curls, similar to how Cher is known to sport her hair.
“On my favorite day of the year, it’s only right to turn back the clock and honor theOG pioneer @cher,” Aguilera began in an accompanying Instagram carousel that included images of the final result of the photo shoot.

“Chera’s message through her music and style left a lasting mark on the world and to this day I still can’t believe I had the opportunity to work with such a legend!!!!”
The “Lady Marmalade” singer switched up her outfit on the broadcast, also wearing a body-hugging floor-length black dress with straps and a sheer jumpsuit with sparkles.
“No one could ever replace the great and mighty Cher. The love and respect I have for you is endless 🖤 ⚓️”, concluded Aguilera.

In the film, the “Beautiful” artist plays a small-town singer named Alice Marilyn who leaves Iowa to chase her dreams in Los Angeles. When he gets there, he finds himself working as a cocktail server at the Burlesque Lounge, run by Cher’s character Tess Scali.
Burlesque was the first film musical of the “Believe” singer.
At the time, then-Screen Gems president Clint Culpepper was open about wanting Cher to return to the big screen for a while.
“She brings a soulfulness and gravitas to this character that will ground the story,” Culpepper said in 2009. “The only person who was more excited than me was Christina.”

In the interview for 2020 Entertainment Weeklyissue caught up with some of the cast and crew a decade later as they reflected on the film.
“I’ve always been inspired by throwback classic pin-up art and burlesque, basically anything that celebrates the female body and sexuality, so I was already privy to the history and appeal of this world, conceptually,” Aguilera told the outlet.
“I wanted a modern take on burlesque with a retro feel and a nod to its history and origins,” added costume designer Michael Kaplan. “Bad without being crass! There’s also Paris’ Crazy Horse Saloon, the musical Cabaret, as well as a 60s TV show Noise as well as Follies Bergère.”
